I met a fellow Diana Gabaldon fan at breakfast! I decided to have a rest day and stay another night at Fort Augustus. I wandered into the village and took a boat tour out on Loch Ness. They had sonar equipment on board which was really interesting but we didn’t come across any monsters.
I browsed all the shops, checked out the canal and bought some supplies, including Avon Skin So Soft, which is what the locals use against the midges. I also bought a trilogy on the Jacobite Rising to read on the train. I went back to the B&B to write postcards, sort out my route and update my journal.
I went to clean my bike and found that all my stuff was wet in the trailer as I hadn’t secured it properly when I had arrived the night before so I had to put everything on an airing horse in front of a radiator in the hallway. I was very pleased that I noticed today and not when I went to pack everything up and go in the morning.
I watched telly and had an early night. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
